The renovation/addition was proposed to expand and reorganize functions for Clarence Fire District No. 1. Upgrades to the existing building included redesign of circulation space and work-flow efficiency, new finishes, additional window openings for daylighting, and new mechanical equipment. The addition expands the apparatus bays and adds a fitness room, district offices, and conference space. In addition to improving functionality, the District intended to provide a new, improved image to the community. The front of the building was therefore transformed by adding pitched roof forms, glass doors and stone details.
