The project at JFK Middle School consists of significant building exterior and interior improvements including: exterior windows and select door replacement; new main entrance and relocation of the main office on Deerfield Drive; exterior wall replacement at the Library; roof replacement; asbestos and PCB abatement; ADA accessibility; upgrades to finishes in the building – renovations to classrooms, offices and common areas (floors, ceilings, painting), and other important improvements. Mechanical and electrical system replacements and upgrades include work to the following systems: plumbing, heating and ventilation system improvements; conversion from steam to hot water including new boilers; electronic digital control (DDC) of new mechanical systems; electrical service; fire alarm; public address system; clock system; security and technology improvements.
