Buffalo Neighborhood Stabilization Company (BNSC) & People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH)
Buffalo, NY

Stieglitz Snyder Architecture and Eco_Logic Studio are collaboratively designing scattered site infill housing for PUSH Buffalo.

Encompassing ten sites, the project adds 53 units of affordable housing to Buffalo's west side community. Sites include (2) rehabilitated doubles, (4) sites with side by side doubles, and (4) sites with multi-family apartment buildings. Opportunities for three-bedroom and four-bedroom units were maximized to accommodate low-income families. Fifteen units of supportive housing are included to transition community members of short-term substance abuse programs into long-term residences.

Designed to meet Passive House, NYSERDA Low-Rise Residential New construction, and Energy Star Certified Homes, the project includes solar and geothermal energy sources. Building envelope design has been particularly important to meet the aggressive energy standards set forth by PUSH Buffalo.
